SUMMARY
FLYING TO GIOTTO is a novel about a man whose moral map is erased when he loses his patriotism. Can conscience survive without one’s country?
A C.I.A. attempt to sabotage Russian investment in Ukraine’s Donbas Region nearly kills a young American working on the project.
He takes a flying vacation with the goal of looking at Giotto’s frescoes in Assisi but during stops in Kiev, Innsbruck and Assisi, the violence continues. Loss of faith in his country propels him onto a reckless path to prove his worth to a woman and his courage to himself.
